Natural stone restoration and marble polishing in Calabasas
Calabasas homes tend toward grand foyers, large-format polished marble and limestone baths, surfaces where every dull lane and etch mark shows. We restore natural stone discreetly, working smoothly with gate staff, property managers and busy households.
Large-format marble, large expectations
Estates in The Oaks, Calabasas Park and Mountain View Estates often open onto foyers and great rooms finished in large-format polished marble. Big tiles and slabs make a striking, almost seamless floor, but they also put every flaw on display. One dull traffic lane or a ring of etch marks near the bar stands out across a wide expanse of reflective stone.
Tall windows add to it. Afternoon light coming low across a polished floor reveals fine scratches, uneven sheen and slight edge height differences between tiles that are invisible at noon. Restoring these floors means getting the whole surface uniform, not just the worst spots.
A consistent finish across the whole floor
We restore marble with diamond honing and polishing, moving through progressively finer abrasives until the damage is gone and the surface is even. Large rooms are worked methodically so the sheen is consistent from wall to wall, and edges, thresholds and the areas under curved stairs are detailed by hand.
Where light etching is isolated, spot work is sometimes possible, but matching a high polish exactly is demanding, so we will tell you when a full-room refinish will look better. Before anything starts, we protect the home with drop cloths, shoe covers and draping over stair rails, millwork and furnishings.
Once the finish is restored, we protect it with a penetrating sealer chosen for that marble. Sealer will not stop acids from etching a polished surface, but it slows the absorption of oils, coffee and wine so spills can be wiped up before they stain. We also explain how to keep the finish looking even: dust mopping to remove grit, a pH-neutral stone cleaner, and felt pads under furniture that moves. Those small habits extend the time between restorations considerably.
Limestone and marble bathrooms
Primary baths in Calabasas are often finished in honed limestone or marble from floor to ceiling. Limestone is softer and more absorbent than marble, so it shows water marks, soap residue and wear in front of vanities. Marble etches from toiletries and cleaning products, and showers build up mineral deposits on walls and in grout.
We clean, hone and reseal bath floors, and restore stone showers in the same visit, removing buildup, cleaning or color sealing grout, and resealing the walls. Vanity tops can be refinished to match, so the room comes back together as one.
Gated communities and property managers
Calabasas has many gated and guard-gated communities, and estates are often managed by a property manager or house staff. We coordinate arrival times with gate staff, follow each community's rules on work hours and vendor vehicles, and confirm parking and access routes in advance.
Inside the home, we keep a small, quiet footprint, stay within the agreed work areas and respect house rules. Owners who are traveling and property managers can send photos through our form for a photo-based estimate, and we coordinate access with whoever manages the home.
Canyon homes, horses and trail dust
In Hidden Hills and Monte Nido, homes sit closer to the land, with horse properties, oak canopies and trails through the Santa Monica Mountains. Fine dust and decomposed granite from paths and arenas come indoors on boots and paws, and that grit dulls stone floors faster than normal foot traffic.
A restored floor holds up better with walk-off mats at the entries people actually use and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. We leave a short care guide with every job and can recommend when to check the sealer. For horse properties, a boot-change spot or bench by the door does more to protect a marble floor than any product. It keeps arena footing and trail grit where it belongs, outdoors.
On a large polished marble floor, consistency is everything: one even sheen from the front door to the back terrace.

Careful by design
Stone is unforgiving. The wrong cleaner etches marble, the wrong pad scratches it, the wrong sealer turns terracotta shiny and fake. Every project starts with understanding the surface.
Read the surface
We identify the exact stone or tile, its finish and its condition, then explain what it needs and what it doesn't. Not every floor needs every step.
Protect the home
Drop cloths, shoe covers and draping go down before any equipment comes in. Baseboards, rugs and furniture stay clean.
Clean & restore
Professional equipment and surface-safe products do the heavy work evenly, room by room, including the edges and corners.
Seal & walk-through
The right sealer for your surface, a walk-through of the finished work with you, and simple care instructions so the result lasts.
Our make-it-right guarantee
We walk the finished work with you before we leave. If any area isn't right, tell us and we'll come back and make it right at no charge. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every floor.
Can you remove etch marks from a polished marble foyer without refinishing the whole floor?
Sometimes. Light, isolated etching can often be polished out locally. Because a high polish is unforgiving, a spot repair can look slightly different in raking light, so if the etching is widespread we will usually recommend refinishing the full room for an even result. We will show you the difference on a test area.
Some of our marble tiles sit slightly higher than their neighbors. Can that be corrected?
Minor height differences between tiles, called lippage, can often be reduced by honing the floor flat before polishing. How much can be corrected depends on the stone thickness and the size of the difference, so we assess it in person before recommending this step.
How do you handle gate access and property managers?
We confirm the gate list, arrival window, vendor rules and parking with you or your manager before the work day. On site, we stay within the agreed rooms and keep our footprint small and quiet.
Is limestone practical for a primary bath, and how do we care for it?
It is a beautiful choice when it is sealed and cared for. Wipe up water and products promptly, use a pH-neutral stone cleaner, and reseal when water starts darkening the stone quickly. If it has already marked or worn, honing and resealing can restore an even finish.
